Templar Foods Chairman, Edward D."Ned" Reeves
Quality
Control Program: Buyers of grocery-beverage items are quality conscious. They
require appropriate and consistent levels of quality control, assurance of product
safety, reproducibility of product characteristics and evidence that product is
manufactured in conformity with federal regulations known as Good Manufacturing
Practices. Templar Food Products is committed to this total quality program through
monitoring of all steps in the process - including raw materials, product in process
and finished goods.
Templar Food Products was founded in 1971 by Chairman Edward D."Ned"
Reeves. A Chemistry graduate of Williams College, Reeves has based his career
in the international tea and coffee industry. He has been active on the Technical
Committee of the Tea Association of the U.S.A., of which Templar Food Products
is a longstanding member. Reeves began working in the Research Department of Tenco,
a major instant coffee and tea manufacturer, in 1955. He spent sixteen years helping
grow the company, including the eventual purchase of Tenco by The Coca-Cola Company.
He traveled extensively to tea producing countries, and was a board member of
a corporate tea processing operation in Kenya.
